ANNOUNCEMENTS

The class schedule has been changed to Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 12:50 p.m. It will be effective from next week (week of May 12). The new classroom is P3067.

Midterm exam will be held in class on June 18 (wednesday). You will get 1 hour 30 minutes  to write the exam. I will take regular class after the exam. Exam will cover the materials from Ch 24, 25, 28, 29 and 27 of Varian's text (7th ed.). There will be 2 parts in the exam:

Part A: 2 out of 3 'True/False/Uncertain with explanation' type questions 2*10 = 20 marks

Part B: 2 multi-part problem solving questions 2*15 = 30 marks

I rescheduled EC370 class for next week. There will be no class on Wednesday (July 9). Instead, I will take class on Monday (July 7) from 10:00 am to 12:50 p.m. Class will be held in our regular classroom (P3067).

The original midterm exam average was 59.82%.  I added 3 marks (6%) to everybody to increase the class average to 65.82%.

Final exam will be held on August 7 (thursday). Please check SBE website for the location of exam room. You will get 2 hours 30 minutes  to write the exam. Final exam will cover all the materials which are covered during the term. This means that final exam will cover Ch 12, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 31,  32, 34 and 36 of Varian's text (7th ed.), and the lecture slides which are posted on the course website.. In addition, exam will also cover Appendix to 24, Appendix to 31,  Appendix to 32 and Appendix to 36.  

Note that exam will NOT cover  sections 36.7, 36.8, 36.9 and 36.10 of Ch 36, the relevant lecture slides of Ch 36 which covers these excluded topics, and Appendix to Ch 12.

There will be 2 parts in the final exam.

Part A: 2 out of 3 'True/False/Uncertain with explanation' type questions or short questions  2*12.5 = 25 marks

Part B: 3 multi-part problem solving questions 3*25 = 75 marks

I am holding the following extra office hours for the final exam:

July 24 (Thursday): 2:00 - 4:00 pm

July 25 (Friday): 2:00 - 4:00 pm

August 5 (Tuesday): 12:00 - 4:00 pm and 8:00 - 10:00 pm

August 6 (Wednesday): 12:00 - 4:00 pm and 8:00 - 10:00 pm
