Economics 250: Introduction to Statistics

Resources

1. Book

The key resource is: Statistics for Business and Economics by Newbold, Carlson and Thorne (Pearson Publishing, 2010). 
The Custom Edition is available in the campus bookstore.

The book contains a few type-setting and proof-reading errors. It will come with a separate, correction sheet listing those errors.



2. Calculator

You need an approved hand calculator. In Economics, the approved calculators are those with blue or gold stickers or the Casio 991.



3. Software

To graph or plot data, you can use Microsoft Excel.
Microsoft Office is installed on public computing sites, especially Mackintosh-Corry Hall B111 or E209.

You also can use Calc, the spreadsheet component of OpenOffice.
