Evaluation Options Evaluation is different depending on whether or not you would like to earn participation marks. I believe that class participation will make the material come alive for you and will give me a good sense of what you understand, so I strongly encourage you to condescend to earn participation marks.
If you decide to earn participation marks
If you decide to not earn participation marks, you will not need an i-clicker or a subscription to web-clicker. Your assignments will be worth 20%, the midterm, 25%, and the final, 55%.
If you have purchased and registered an i-clicker or webclicker subscription, you have until the last day of class to decide whether you would like your participation to be counted or not. Send me an e-mail. If I do not get an e-mail, I will only count participation for students whose participation score is at least 6 out of the 10 possible marks.
Evaluation Dates
To get full participation marks you will need to have an i-clicker before the 3rd week of class.
The graded work can be picked up from the Graded Coursework Distribution Centre, Dunning Hall Room 311. This link gives you their hours: http://www.econ.queensu.ca/academics/undergraduate/distribution_centre
You need to show your student ID to pick up your work.
Resources Used We will use
We will be going through the course workbook in order. We may also watch films and discuss various news articles. Check Moodle for updates and for links to previous midterms and exams.
Academic Integrity
Academic Integrity is constituted by the five core fundamental values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility (see www.academicintegrity.org). These values are central to the building, nurturing, and sustaining of an academic community in which all members of the community will thrive. Adherence to the values expressed through academic integrity forms a foundation for the "freedom of inquiry and exchange of ideas" essential to the intellectual life of the University (see the Senate Report on Principles and Priorities). Students are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the regulations concerning academic integrity and for ensuring that their assignments conform to the principles of academic integrity. Information on academic integrity is available in the Arts and Sciences Calendar (see Academic Regulation 1), on the Arts and Sciences website (see http://www.queensu.ca/calendars/artsci/Regulation_1____Academic_Integrity.html) and from the instructor of this course. Departures from academic integrity include
