1) There are two data files:

1.1) the file "qc.csv" contains one variable (AFDC benefits) with 3318
observations. This data set is extracted from AFDC quality control data.

1.2) the file "sipp.csv" contains the following variables with 520
observations:

SPL_LGTH  	: spell length
SPL_RCS		: spell right censoring indicator
CPI		: CPI
S20AMT		: AFDC benefits
UHOURS		: labor hours
RNTRINC		: real non-benefits income
FOKLT5		: number of children under 5
FOKLT18		: number of children under 18
AGE		: age/100
UNEMP		: state unemployment rate
EDU		: years of education/24
DISABLTY	: disability indicator
WHITE		: race indicator

This data set is extracted from Survey of Income and Program Participation.
 
2) The file "durv4.txt" contains GAUSS code for the estimation.

All three files are ASCII files in DOS format. They are zipped in the file
hr-files.zip. Unix/Linux users should use "unzip -a".
