The empirical analysis is based on the 2009 wave of the Panel Study of
Income Dynamics. A subsample of married (ER42023 = 1 in the PSID code
book) couples, aged between 25 and 60, where men are working and women
are working or not is selected. Only stable couples are included,
i.e., if ER46984 = 1 or ER46984 = 2;
All the data that we used are in the file psid3_jae.csv, which is an
ASCII file in DOS format. It is zipped in dm-data.zip. Unix/Linux
users should use "unzip -a".
The sample size reduces to 2,099 households. The file psid3_jae.csv
contains all the variables (26) used in the empirical analysis:
HHID : household identifier (obtained from ER42002)
AGE_M : man's age in years (divided by 10) (from ER42017)
AGE_F : woman's age in years (divided by 10) (from ER42019)
