Pavlo Blavatskyy and Ganna Pogrebna, "Models of Stochastic Choice and Decision Theories: Why Both are Important for Analyzing Decisions", Journal of Applied Econometrics, Vol. 25, No. 6, 2010, pp. 963-986. There are two files in plain text format. One file is for an Italian data set and one file is for a British data set (as detailed in the manuscript). In each file, the first column just gives the number of a TV episode, the second column tells the date of a TV episode, and the third column tells which box was selected by a contestant. These data are listed purely for convenience; they are not used in any estimations. The fourth column tells the ordinal number of the price that is eliminated (so that it goes from 1 to 20 in Italian episodes and from 1 to 22 in UK episodes). Again, this column is listed purely for convenience. The data that are used in the paper are listed in columns 5, 6, and 7. Column 5 tells us which price was eliminated. Column 6 tells us which offer was made by the "bank" after all prizes listed in the previous lines AND in the current line were eliminated. Column 7 tells us the decision of a contestant. Note that column 7 is a binary variable that takes on only two values "Deal" or "No Deal". Both files (RawData_Italy.txt and RawData_UK.txt) are ASCII files in DOS format. They are zipped in the file bp-data.zip. Unix/Linux users should use "unzip -a". Dr. Pavlo R.
