Anindya Banerjee and Paul Mizen, "A Re-interpretation of the Linear-Quadratic Model When Inventories and Sales are Polynomially Cointegrated", Journal of Applied Econometrics, Vol. 21, No. 8, 2006, pp. 1249-1264. The file bm-data.txt contains six series from 1982:1 until 2001:4 (at a quarterly frequency) for the US taken from the Bureau of Economy Analysis NIPA tables. All the data are seasonally adjusted and are in billions of chained 2000 US dollars. The file bm-data.txt, which is in DOS format, is zipped in bm-data.zip. Unix users should use "unzip -a". Notation below refers to that used in the text of the paper. Column 1 of the file gives the date. Columns 2 and 3 give, respectively, the time series for aggregate data for stocks (H_t) and sales (S_t). Columns 4, 5, 6 and 7 give, respectively, the time series for the disaggregate raw material inventories for the manufacturing sector (H_t^M(RM)), work in progress inventories for the manufacturing sector (H_t^M(WIP)), finished goods inventories for the manufacturing sector (H_t^M(FG)), and real manufacturing sales (S_t^M).
