Pedro H. Albuquerque, "A Practical Log-Linear Aggregation Method with Examples: Heterogeneous Income Growth in the U.S.", Journal of Applied Econometrics, Vol. 18, No. 6, 2003, pp. 665-678. The empirical section of this paper uses American household income data from the Current Population Survey (CPS), published by the U.S. Census Bureau. Two variables, with yearly observations ranging from 1967 to 1999, were utilized: mean household income (in 1999 Dollars), and household income inequality (Theil's second measure or mean logarithmic deviation). The data can be found on the Census Bureau web site. The ASCII data file (albdata.data) presents the observations for the two yearly series. The first column is the year, the second is mean household income, and the third is the mean logarithmic deviation of household income. Pedro H. Albuquerque pedrohalbuquerque@yahoo.com
