The file "rv-files.zip" contains the main folder "Replication
files", which in turn contains the six subfolders "1. Dofiles", "2.
Raw data", "3. Intermediary results", "4. Master data", "5. TeX
results" and "6. Logfiles", and a PDF document "Readme.pdf".

The main dofile is "1. Master Dofile" and is located in the folder "1.
Dofiles". This dofile uses all other dofiles to construct the master
dataset from the raw data sources, located in "2. Raw data", and to
estimate independence dividends and their potential determinants as
outlined in the paper. The source of each raw data-file is identified
in appendix table A1 of the paper and in do-file "1.1. Data
collection" (lines 269-332), located in "1. Dofiles".

Running the master dofile produces several intermediary results (e.g.
synthetic control weights) saved in folder "3. Intermediary results";
the master dataset used for the empirical analysis and saved in the
folder "4. Master data"; as well as all the figures and tables
presented in the paper, exported to "5. TeX results". Logfiles
corresponding to each step of the empirical analysis are saved in "6.
Logfiles".

Readme.pdf provides some additional technical details on the
replication files.
