All files are ASCII files in DOS format. They are zipped in the file
ad-data.zip. Unix/Linux users should use "unzip -a".

Using the Rural Urban Migration in China (RUMiC) longitudinal dataset,
I created the following three files to be used in the main analysis:

1. "urb_rur_migr_matches_data_all.csv" contains the information for
couples. Each row is a couple, and columns are variables corresponding
to either the attributes of the husband and the attributes of the
wife. There are 1623 observations in this file.

2. "urb_rur_migr_singleM_data_all.csv contains the information for
single men. Each row is a single man, and columns contain information
about the attributes of this man. There are 229 observations in this
file.

3. "urb_rur_migr_singleW_data_all.csv contains the information for
single women. Each row is a single woman and columns contain
information about the attributes of this woman. There are 173
observations in this file.

The variables of man end with the letter "m" while those of women end
with the letter "v". The variables contained in each data file are:

* Height: measured in cm

* Health: measured on a Likert scale from 1 to 4.

* Smoke: a dummy variable that takes for value 0 if the individual
         does not smoke and 1 otherwise.

* Yos: Years of Schooling.

* BMI: Body mass index measured as the mass in kg divided by the
       height squared (height measured in meters).

* Age: age of the individual in years.

* Files: variable indicating whether the observation comes from the
         "Rural" file (0), the "Migration" file (1) or the "Urban" file (2)
	 of the survey.

* Loca_current: dummy variable that takes for value 0 if the
		individual is currently (at time of the interview) in
		a rural area and 1 if he/she is in an urban area.

* Loca_orig: dummy variable that takes for value 0 if the individual
	     was originally from a rural area and 1 if he/she was from
	     an urban area.

* Expro: dummy variable that takes for value 1 if the individual has
	 changed his/her hukou status from rural to urban because of
	 expropriation and 0 otherwise.
