Yu-Chin Hsu and Shu Shen, "Testing Monotonicity of Conditional Treatment Effects Under Regression Discontinuity Designs", Journal of Applied Econometrics, Vol. 36, No. 3, 2021, pp. 346-366. All folders are zipped in the file ss-files.zip. Text (ASCII) files are in DOS format. 1. The folder "functions" include generic functions that would be called for both Monte Carlo simulations and empirical applications. Codes for CCT and IK bandwidth selections are from Sebastian Calonico, Matias D. Cattaneo, and Rocio Titiunik (2014). "Robust Nonparametric Confidence Intervals for Regression Discontinuity Designs," Econometrica, 82(6), 2295-2326. 2. The folder "simulationR2" includes codes for Monte Carlo simulations. Codes are written such that results are saved in subfolder "mktable". Then with additional codes in the "mktable" subfolder, one could ask R to automatically generate the tables reported in the simulation section of the paper. 3. The folders "APP1" and "APP2" replicate the two empirical applications of the paper. Note that the "csv" format and the "dta" format file contain the same data. The R codes call for the data in "dta" format. 4. The dataset in folder "APP1" is a subsample of all observations from two-school towns in Cristian Pop-Eleches and Miguel Urquiola (2013). "Going to a Better School: Effects and Behavioral Responses", American Economic Review, 103, 1289-1324. 5. The dataset in folder "APP2" is from Jason M. Lindo, Nicholas J. Sanders, and Philip Oreopoulos (2010). "Ability, Gender, and Performance Standards: Evidence from Academic Probation", American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, 2, 95-117.
