in DOS format, and it is zipped in the file du-data-txt.zip.

The file "mtdr_final_data.dta" contains the same data in STATA format.
It is zipped in the file du-data-dta.zip.

There is also a web appendix called Uysal-web-appendix.pdf.


The data source is 1970 British Cohort Study (BCS70). The analysis
is based on the data created using three waves of BCS70 (birth
survey at 1970, survey at age of 10 and at age of 300). All three
waves are provided by UK Data Archive. The sample used in this
study is prepared as explained in detail in section 3.1 in the
paper.

There are 4593 observations (2208 female and 2385 male) on the
following 35 variables:

edulev =0 if no education, =1 if O-level, =2 if A-level, =3 if higher

motage age of mother at the birth of cohort member
