The files ms-data.mat and ms-data.txt contain the same data. The file
ms-data.mat is in Matlab format, and the file ms-data.txt is a
DOS-format ASCII file. The latter is zipped in ms-data-text.zip.
Unix/Linux users should use "unzip -a".

The dataset is collected over the period, 1970-2007 (38 years) for a
total of 44 countries using data from Penn World Tables (version 6.3).
There are 1672 observations for 6 variables. Thus ms-data.txt has 1673
lines (the last line contains column identifiers).

The variables are:
