The data describe welfare spells in Rotterdam. The data are in the Excel 
file dataCarrotStick.xls and the ASCII comma-separated file 
dataCarrotStick.txt. The file CarrotStick.ox contains the Ox code used 
to estimate the baseline model (for men).

The files dataCarrotStick.txt and CarrotStick.ox are ASCII files in DOS 
format. They are zipped in the file cs-text.zip. Unix/Linux users should 
use "unzip -a".

The file dataCarrotStick.xls is a binary file. It is zipped in the file
cs-xls.zip.

id-nr		id number for welfare recipients

inflow		day of inflow (1 = 01/01/2000; 2 = 02/01/2000; etc.)

reason		Previous labor market status (0 = not relevant; 1 = study;
		2 = divorce; 11 = paid work; 12 = subsidized job;
		13 = self-employed; 14 = unemployment insurance;
		15 = sickness/disability; 16 = asylumn; 17 = alimentation;
		19 = other income; 21/22 = artist; 23 = welfare;
		24 = artist without sufficient income; 29 = other;
		99 = due to partner

outflow		day of outflow (1 = 01/01/2000; 2 = 02/01/2000; etc.)

destination	destination state (0 = not ended; 1 = study; 2 = marriage;
		3 = becoming 65; 11 = paid work; 12 = subsidized job;
		13 = self-employed; 14 = unemployment insurance;
