The data are in a plain ASCII text file (in DOS format) named rank4dat.txt.
It is zipped in the file lewbel-data.zip

Each row of data is a UK Family Expenditure Survey household. The columns
are the pair of years the household is drawn from, total expenditures in
pounds per week, then budget shares of food, fuel, clothing, and alcohol.

The total number of households is 4568.

Note that the file rank4fix.pdf file describes and corrects an error in
the published version of the paper.
