Gunter Coenen and Juan-Luis Vega, "The Demand for M3 in the Euro Area", Journal of Applied Econometrics, Vol. 16, No. 6, 2001, pp. 727-748. The time series which were used in the empirical analysis are found in the file cv-data.dat, which is a plain ASCII text file. There are seven variables: m: nominal money stock M3 (computed using fixed weights based on GDP at PPP rates) p: GDP deflator y: real GDP RS: 3-month money market rate RL: 10-year government bond yield m*: nominal money stock M3 (computed in euro using fixed conversion rates) DUM86: dummy variable (accounting for special developments in German data) The series are organized by columns and cover the time period 1980:Q1 to 1998:Q4. The series m, p, y and m* are expressed in logarithmic form, while the series RS and RL are expressed at annualized rates. For more details on the series, see section 2.2 of the article.
