The file gaeldat.dat contains quarterly data on tax revenues, expenditures and debt for the US government, over the period 1947(2) to 1992(3). There are 182 observations on 8 variables. The data were obtained from the web site of the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, linked to the Quintos (1995) paper referred to in the paper.
